Choosing an Essay Writing Service: A Brief Guide on How to Avoid Scams

Contrary to popular belief, custom essay writing services are not used by bratty, trust-fund babies with a lazy streak and loads of money to spare.

Most of our clients are young professionals who are working and earning money while finishing up their last year of college or graduate school, or older professionals who have recently gotten laid off, or have finally decided to go back and get their degree.

We’ve written custom admissions essays and term papers for policemen, retired firemen, school teachers, aspiring nurses, hedge fund managers, desperate college kids and yes, even a well-known New York City comedian.

Life can throw some unexpected obstacles in our way. Why should your GPA (which is cumulative and permanent) suffer because your kid had to go the hospital, or because of the broken leg you suffered in the Alpines?

While there are many differing opinions on custom essay writing services, the fact remains—there is definitely a USE and a NEED for them. Our clients send us Christmas cards and e-mails periodically, thanking us for getting them through that trying academic period in their life, or helping them gain admission into a college they were reaching for.

But there are so many essay writing services out there to choose from. How do you know which one to pick?

Unfortunately, there are so many garbage essay writing services out there, cluttering the marketplace. Randomly choose one, and you’re bound to get an essay or term paper riddled with grammatical errors and PLAGIARIZED or RECYCLED info. This is a huge NO-NO.

Here are some things to look for in an essay writing service:

Are they located in the United States?

If not, move on. Many companies outsource their writing at $1 a page to India or Bangladesh, charging you $8 a page for garbage.

What are their rates?

If they’re lower than $20 a page, again—garbage. No essay writing service is willing to do the work needed for a B or better paper or essay for less than that. It simply is not worth it.

Do they have a phone number?

If so—call. Usually, you can tell whether someone’s trying to pull the wool over your eyes with a simple phone call.

Do they have any samples?

If not readily available on their website, ask for some. Any legitimate essay writing service will have samples ready for distribution.

Does their website look spammy?

This is obviously not a clear-cut criteria. But does the website look like an insurance sales page, rather than an actual freelance academic writing service? Are they clearly trying to SELL you something, rather than perform a service for you? By now, most people can tell when a webpage is “salesy” or legitimate. Tread carefully.

We hope that this very brief guide on online essay writing services gives you some insight on the current state of the industry, and how to choose a provider, if you are ever in need. Obviously, we highly recommend our own services to professionals returning to school after a long period of absence, especially if you’re located in New York.

We’ve been in business for over two years now. All of our staff writers are Ivy League educated! We have NEVER plagiarized or recycled a paper, and provide top-quality writing combined with the best customer service you can find in this often-shady industry! Give us a call or shoot us an e-mail.

Eight Ways to Enjoy the College Years While They Last

collegeHave you ever had your dad tell you, “yeah, college were the best years of my life,” then slyly wink at your blushing mom? There’s this notion that college is supposed to be this magical time of socializing, bonding and making a fodder for embarrassing family get-together stories years down the road.

But I remember my own first year of college, as a dark, chaotic period of my life. When things didn’t make sense anymore. I fell deep into gambling, drinking and overall debauchery—it would take me a year and a half off from school after that freshman year to recover.

What nobody told me back then was that college, though it’s definitely a great place to live and have a great time, is never going to be the way you imagine it as a fresh-faced high-school senior.

But what about those kids around you, in your dorm room, or in your class, who seem to be having a blast off the bat? How are they making friends so quickly? Why isn’t anyone coming up to me?

There’s nothing wrong with you. But maybe you just came into college, whether commuting or dorming, with the wrong mindset. Maybe college isn’t a magical place like your parents make it out to be, that is teeming with people who want to talk and eat with you, who think you’re the greatest person alive. College, many incoming freshmen and even sophomores and juniors believe, is revolved around you. But college is like every other place you’ll ever encounter—the onus is on you to make the most of it.

Here are real-deal ways to make your college life as magical as Camelot.

1. Be a yesman. Like Jim Carrey in his new movie, the goal is to say yes to whatever comes your way. Now, that’s not to say step over boundaries—if you feel uncomfortable with drugs, obviously, don’t do drugs. But being positive for a few weeks really changes the way people perceive you. Though this involves some sacrifice in time and commitment, it’ll make you friends you never thought you’d make.
2. Join the club. Your school most likely has hundreds of clubs of all types of interests. Check out the list and set aside a day, each club, to attend one of the meetings. Don’t forgot to breathe, and don’t be a statue.
3. Talk the talk. At every one of the club meetings you attend, approach at LEAST one person. I can’t understand the people I see who attend the club I run at school, and sit there, watching, and sneak out the back door. This approach isn’t just for the clubs; it’s for the everywhere.
4. Go to class! Yes, this is actually an option. Not only will you learn something, and maybe get a decent grade, you might meet some people who actually interest you. Who knows, I know many of my friends who go out to drink with their study groups every week.
5. Go home. Don’t forget your friends at home, from your neighborhood. They’re the one’s who helped you get to where you are.
6. Enjoy it while it lasts. Four years isn’t a long time. Just remembering that should keep you motivated to…
7. Make the most of it! Whatever you choose to participate in at college, whether it be the theater, or intramural Frisbee, enjoy every second while it lasts.

College isn’t magical. It’s special. It’s your first home as an adult. So the kid mindset needs to go. Nobody’s going to hand it to you on a silver platter; make the most of it.

Now Requiring a 50% Deposit for Projects

We try to be honest and upfront.  When we agree upon a date, we do our damnedest to get the project done on that date.  95% of the time, we’re right on schedule, or early.  The quality of our work is unparalleled, especially in such a dishonest industry.

We’ve had clients for over two years.  They’ve stuck with us through thick and thin.  We’ve had new clients treat us with the utmost respect.

But we’ve been burned for the last time.  We ask for a 25% deposit in good faith of our clients.  However, that 25% does not begin to cover the costs of the time and effort and manpower that go into our projects.

So when we have the project finished and on hand on due date, and the client fails to respond, then we’re basically f*cked.

All new projects will require a 50% deposit from now on.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope that you will understand and continue to use our top-notch services.

Summer Classes: All about SURVIVAL!

6148jones-beach-postersSummer is finally here.  Officially time to hit the beach.  Play basketball in the park.  Read a book.  Mow the lawn.  Whatever tickles your fancy.

There’s only one thing that can put a damper on the beautiful New York weather, the gorgeous men and women, the oodles of free time:

SUMMER SCHOOL!

If you’ve already had the unfortunate experience of taking a summer session, you know you’re in for one intense, hellish rollercoaster ride.  Assignments of several chapters of reading per day.  Professors who care just about as much as you do (nil).  The agonizing experience of being stuck in a room while your friends are out at play.

But despite the hardships, there’s a reason you’ve decided to take summer classes this year.

  1. Catch up.  Maybe you’re behind on credits.  Summer is a great time to even the playing field and get on the same wavelength as your colleagues.
  2. Early graduation.  Maybe you have the next Googlish idea.  Maybe you have plans on traveling through Europe before you join the ratrace.  In any case, unless you enjoy the campus life (which many do!) early graduation gives you several advantages.
  3. Boost your GPA.  Summer classes are make or break.  You have a chance to significantly boost your grade point average, which in turn, affects what grad school you might get into, what job is waiting for you upon graduation, whether you’re buying a Benz or a Kia on your 25th birthday.
  4. To learn.  Enough said.

Whatever the reason you’re taking them, summer classes are extremely intense, and its hard to keep up if you fall even one assignment back!  Because of the short amount of time and the depth of material covered in each summer session, it might be prudent for some to look into our services and see if our stellar and reliable writing services may ease the workload, especially for those who are planning on:

  • Working during the summer
  • Have more than one summer class
  • Are not at all familiar or interested in the subject of the class being taken
  • Would rather be outside enjoying the weather

Take a good look at our blog and see if what we offer is right for you!  And once you’re ready to outsource some of those tedious writing assignments, blackboard discussions, research papers or theses to us, shoot us an e-mail at order@ilessays.com or give us a call at 917 293 2357.

Happy summer!
